Hello readers aka mum , much has happened since my last blog post. We had a great time in Cambodia. We got massages, had our nails done, put our feet in a tank of fish who like eating dead skin and many other things. It was pretty weird when people would ask us to take photos with them; at one point Camilla held someone’s baby for the shot .. Extreme. We have already been sick from the food which has been fun and been for crazy Tuk Tuk rides on streets with seemingly no road rules. Arriving in Bangkok was great; we were excited to arrive at our hotel and find out we had been upgraded to a deluxe room for free! Best. So far we have done a lot of shopping. The malls here are insane , they have cinemas, bowling alleys and 7 levels of insanely cheap shops. We even went on a virtual 3D rollercoaster for a couple of bucks which was so fun. I actually probably had embarrassingly too much fun.
As you can see from the picture here, Camilla has tried to blend in with the locals and I think she’s doing a good job actually. Carrying around the cardboard cutout can be arduous at times but it pays off.
The only strange things about being here .. Would have to be being constantly harrassed to buy things. No I don’t want to see the ping pong show you weirdo! And no I don’t need a new watch thanks. It never stops!
Also a lot of the time you won’t know who is a man and who is a woman. I asked a lady a question yesterday and she had a man’s voice when she answered. I was taken aback and to be honest .. we both felt awkward after my shocked reaction.Uncomfortable to say the least, especially as she was serving me in the pharmacy.
Basically we are both confused a lot . We were taken on a roundabout adventure by a Tuk Tuk yesterday to a gem shop when we asked for the mall and tonight I ate my meal out of a pineapple. It’s a bit random but I like it. On Monday we start a 2 week teaching program in Chiang Rai which we are looking forward to! I am not looking forward to sharing my room with numerous geckos and malarious mozzies but I’m going to drink a can of man up; never fear. Until next time..

Jacqui’s post about our time in Bangkok :)
